Meet Pastoral Team

My name is Ian Paterson. I'm married to Linda and have two beautiful children; a son called Caleb, and a daughter named Lowri. We as a family are from South Africa, but have a real love for South Wales and see it as our second home (we still support South Africa if they are playing rugby against Wales).

I have spent the majority of my adult life involved in full time youth ministry, and I'm really grateful to God for the journey he has taken me on and and for all the amazing young people I have met (and ministered to) along the way. I'm excited for the future and can't wait to see what God has in store for our church and it's young people.

My main interest is spending time with my family, but I also have a love for woodworking, particulary in the building of electric guitars.

Welcome to Pantygwydr Baptist Church, my name is Matt. I am married to Christina and we have two grown up children who live in different parts of England. I have been in ministry for nearly 30 years, serving in churches in Luton and Hastings before coming to South Wales in 2019.

I believe that God has brought us together at this time to make a difference to the community and the world we live in. Particularly as we come through the recent pandemic, Pantygwydr is uniquely placed to offer love, encouragement and support to any who is in need. As part of this, Ian and I also serve on the Swansea University chaplaincy team. Building stronger links between students and the community.

I have a wide range of hobbies and interests including dinghy sailing, vegetable gardening and programming and designing things for my 3D printer.
